Year 3

Welcome to Year Three!

Summer Term

Our class teacher is Mrs Dixon & our learning assistant is Mr McDonaugh.

This half term, we go swimming on Tuesdays. Please make sure that your child's swimming kit is in school on this day and that it is named.

In Year 3 homework goes out on a Friday and should be returned by the following Thursday to be marked. We also encourage children to read regularly at home. Please listen to them read at least three times each week and record it in their reading records. If your child has finished their book they can also read on Bug Club. The link for this is below:

We will be reading 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes this half term.

We will be writing stories and descriptions from this. Keep an eye out for examples of our writing throughout the term.

In Science, our topic is 'Forces and Magnets'. We will be investigating friction, how strong magnets are, which materials are magnetic and the poles of a magnet.

In RE, we will be thinking about what it is like to follow God. We have already acted out the story of Noah's Ark and talked about why he was a follower of God.
