Science

Science enables children to develop a sense of enquiry and to extend their knowledge and understanding of the world around them. At St Andrew’s, we use a range of teaching methods in science lessons, with an emphasis on providing a curriculum which develops and extends the children’s scientific concepts and encourages them to be curious about the world. This leads to children learning to work as scientists, planning and undertaking practical investigations.

Cross Curricular Activities

At St Andrew's we try to make as many links with different subjects as possible. This helps the children to understand and remember new ideas and concepts.

Our Learning

Click here to view our progression document showing how the children's learning builds upon previous experiences.

We use Knowledge Organisers to help the children learn and remember facts from each topic they cover. They use these facts to deepen their understanding by applying them to skills such as researching, enquiring and experimenting.
