We would like to give all parents and carers a big welcome to St Andrew’s School. We can't believe we have reached the final half term of the year as we look to prepare the children for Year 1.

Last half term the children had great fun learning through the topic of 'Are all minibeasts scary?' They watched as the caterpillars turned into butterflies and spent lots of time hunting for bugs in our outdoor area. We had a great time at the Ugly Bug Ball and were a little sad as we waved our butterflies goodbye.

During the final half term in Reception the children will be exploring homes and traditional tales through the challenge 'Is everybodies house the same?' They will find out about the 3 pigs and share some sweet treats as we read Hansel and Gretel. Don't forget to keep following our exciting learning on Tapestry.

In R.E. we will be exploring special times in our life and the church with an exploration of Pentecost.

Just a few points to note, which really help us.

The children have access to milk, water and fresh fruit each day at snacktime.

Your child should bring a bag to school each day and you should also check inside as we will put in letters, first aid slips and books in.

Your child will be heard read each Monday and books changed. Please remember to listen to your child read at least 3 times a week and write your comments in the reading record.

Please label all items of clothing.

P.E usually takes place on a Friday morning but kits should remain in school.

Many Thanks

Mrs Gorman and the Early Years Team.

We are very proud of our Forest School stye learning opportunities and our outdoor classroom. Please look at our video.
