Wow! We would like to give all parents and carers a big welcome to St Andrew’s School. The children have settled brilliantly into life at school. Most children are now leaping through the door in the morning with a big smile on their face. Friendships are starting to be formed and they are learning to listen and play beautifully with one other. They are now becoming involved in the routines of the school such as lunchtimes, playtimes, and worship in school and church. We are all very proud of them.

The children have sharing information about themselves and their families through the learning challenge “What do I know about me?” and are exploring the season of autumn through “Why are there so many leaves on the ground?” The wellie walked proved popular and we are using the acorns we found to do lots of counting. In R.E. the children have found out why they are special in the eyes of God and explored Harvest. They loved baking and eating their own bread and sharing it with their buddies.

Just a few points to note, which really help us.

Your child should bring a bag to school each day and you should also check inside as we will put in letters, first aid slips and books in.

Children have access to fresh water, fruit and milk each day.

Please label all items of clothing.

P.E usually takes place on a Wednesday afternoon but kits should remain in school.  We will send them home at half term for washing.

It was lovely to see so many parents at our Welcome to Reception meeting and we look forward to this partnership throughout the year ahead. Look out for information on our 1st Stay and Play session.

We look forward to the exciting year ahead

Mrs Gorman, Mrs Andrews and Mrs Hatton.
