Geography
In our Geography curriculum we aim to inspire children to develop a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people. We strive to equip them with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the earth’s key physical and human processes. At all times we provide practical and interactive experiences along with opportunities to use the latest technology to make the Geography curriculum come alive.
Cross Curricular Activites
We ensure that our Geography teaching makes links and connections with other areas of the curriculum. This helps the children to remember new ideas and also to consider themes and concepts across a broader range of subjects.
For example, when learning about our local area we combined a Geography lesson with a Dance activity. This helped the children to remember the concepts that they had previously studied.
Learning in Geography
We use Knowledge Organisers to help the children learn and remember facts from each topic. They use these facts to deepen their understanding by applying them to skills such as researching, enquiring and experimenting. Click on the links below to view our Knowledge Organisers.
