We have links with a school in South Africa and we have visited schools throughout Europe to discover the best ideas that we can implement here at St Andrew's.
In South Africa we have links with Moriting Primary School in Tembisa, which caters for children from 4 years to 14. Mrs McKinnon and Mrs Marsh have visited the school twice, to explore how we could help each other develop our international links and how we could assist with each others curriculum. During their visit they wrote and sent a daily diary and also skyped with some of the South African children back to the UK. Not only did they work very hard and attend lots of meetings, but also they had some time to explore and experience some of the local culture. They then brought back lots of good ideas and stimuli that were used in the classroom.
Using funding granted through the Erasmus+ European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport, staff members have visited schools in several European countries including Sweden, Italy and Poland. They have worked alongside our European colleagues to develop new ideas and to learn from each other.
Experiences gained on these courses have then been implemented at home to the benefit of all our children.
